  • Quiet roads - tarmac & dirt tracks
  • Low cost flights to Faro, usually only two and a half hours from UK
  • Excellent cuisine

               Good hotels in interesting places
Fascinating sights all along the way
               Cycle at your own pace
  • Holidays based in one superb hotel in the central Algarve region
A chance to take to the hills and explore the network of dirt tracks,  or you can stay on tarmac
Nightlife options in Vilamoura & Albufeira
              Guided tours optional

  • Bespoke cycle holidays for the serious cyclist wishing to use the Algarve as a training base
Assistance with route selection on good quiet roads
             Optional support vehicle
Flexibility to provide a package to suit your requirements
            http://www.activityalgarve.com/contact.htm
Whichever of the above options appeals, you can choose to have an extra few days relaxation at the end of your cycling trip and try out any of the following activities :-

 Switzerland
Rides & Holidays
Dear New Brighton CC,

I’m hoping that the strong British Pound, cheap flights with Easyjet and this coupon will be enough to make some of your club members consider coming to Switzerland this summer.

No hassles: just board the plane to Geneva with a piece of baggage and we’ll supply the bike and move the bag across Switzerland.

You just have to pedal…your suitcase will be waiting for you at the hotel.

And with our excellent Swiss-made BMC bikes, the pedaling will be a cinch.

We do independent and group tours. The coupon at the link below is valid for either.

Hope your members consider it.

My best,

John

 Old Members - contacts, etc.
Info on Club Members25/05/2008

I have now posted lots of pictures in the “All our Yesterdays” album which have been sent to me by John Hazlehurst.

John can remember some names – Dick & Dot, Alec Noble who went to America, Bill Garry, Malcolm Hare – do you know which photos these people are on.  If you do, then let me know and I will amend the caption, also where you think they were taken.  John says these photos were taken between 1948 and 1956.  He married and went to live in Australia in 1957 – those of you who live “down under” let me know who and where you are and I will put you in touch with John.  Its good to keep in touch and with the technology that we now have, this is so much easier.  We need more people to come out of the woodwork.

Any one else who would like to contact old friends, let me know and I will post the information.  We have had one really good success story, so how many more can we reach.

 Congratulations
Info on Club MembersCongratulations and Well Done  to our youngsters who have travelled far and tried exceptionally hard on the track this year.
Both Liam Brennan and Laura Allen have attended all the sessions sponsored by DHL for up and coming youngsters at Newport Track and have now been selected to join the talent team.  Both are only 14 and this is quite a coup for them and us as a Club.
Liam, Laura and also Ben Matthews are riding at the Future Revolution event this weekend.  Laura has also been selected to ride at the Revolution event on Saturday, 20th October and to quote her “I'm really excited “
As regards Kirkby Track League the club did exceptionally well and all our riders really excelled themselves, without whom we would have been struggling to have a Youth League – Apart from Liam, Laura and Ben we also had Charlotte Matthews, Emily Murphy (who rode early season and then had to train hard in her Tri-Athlon events) and our latest recruit Nathan Barr.  Liam won the Youth Section of Kirkby Track League 62½ points ahead of his nearest rival.
Joe Allen won all the competitions in the final year of Kirkby Track League – the overall League he won by 7½ points and he went on to win both the Dolan Decider and the 500m Sydney Handicap events, and with the addition of Dave Hitchen and Cameron Forrest we also won the Team event.
So very well done to all.
